Why is my disk drive not listed as an option to install Windows Vista on?

If your disk drive is not listed on the setup screen, this means Windows Vistasetup does not have the necessary driver to access it. This is commonly the casewith serial ATA (SATA) disk drives and RAID controllers.

You will need to transfer the drivers that you need to access your hard drive onto a floppy disk, CD-ROM, or USB thumb drive. Then, from the Windows Vista setup screen that asks which disk drive to install to,click the Load Drivers button.
